The death of rugby legend Sir Colin Meads has left his King Country hometown Te Kuiti remembering a man who left his mark in the community as much as on the playing field. As Jacinda Ardern kicked off Labour's election campaign in front a 2,200-strong crowd she waded deep into Greens territory, speaking about cleaning up dirty rivers, climate change and inequality. The election campaign is gathering momentum with National's promise at the weekend to build 10 new highways or "roads of national significance" if re-elected. An Australian-British boy has been confirmed dead after the Barcelona van attack last week. A candle light vigil was held in the Havelock North village last night to mark a year since contamination of the town's water supply.
