Sex abuse claims passed to police without victims knowing

The Ministry of Social Development is being accused of a mass breach of privacy after it sent details to police about hundreds of claims of sexual and physical abuse of children in state care. Amanda Hill who is a lawyer for some of the victims says three of them are about to lay a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner because they didn't know their files were being handed over and had told the Ministry they did not want a criminal prosecution. She tells us it appears there are hundreds of such cases.
