A group representing migrant workers says some Indian students are turning to self-harm or suicide, because they are under pressure to get residency and being exploited by unscrupulous employers.
"If things don't change, if the government policy doesn't actually deliver some positive outcomes for these temporary visa holders... it wouldn't surprise me if we were to see an increase in such suicide cases," the Migrant Workers Association's Anu Kaloti says.
