Child doctor urges NZ to address child abuse issues

Rotorua paediatrician Johan Morreau tells us the time has come for politicians to agree on measures to make sure children are not exposed to danger from dysfunctional families. He gave evidence on Tuesday at the inquest into the death of Moko Rangitoheriri. The three-year-old was abused and beaten to death in 2015 by his caregivers Tania Shailer and David Haerewa, who were sentenced to 17 years for his manslaughter.
