Pharmacists strongly oppose prescriptions for painkillers

Medsafe is about to make a decision about the future of over-the-counter painkillers containing codeine, and whether or not to restrict their sale, making them prescription only. It follows a similar decision in Australia last year, but pharmacists aren't happy and warn it'll clog already-busy GP surgeries.
