Alarming leap in mumps cases in Auckland

An alarming leap in the number of mumps cases in Auckland has public health authorities scrambling to figure out how to contain the outbreak. The number of confirmed or probable cases in the city has more than doubled since last month, and 35 people have been hospitalised with complications. That's causing district health boards to think about mounting a major community-wide effort to stamp out the highly infectious disease. RNZ health correspondent Karen Brown has more.
