Horses' role in WWI commemorated in Hamilton

From Morning Report, 8:54 am on 25 October 2017

The role of the horse in war is to be finally commemorated with a statue in Hamilton. New Zealand sent 8,000 horses to the South African War and 10,000 to the First World War. Of that number, one returned from South Africa in 1902 and only four from Europe and the Middle East at the end of the First World War in 1918. RNZ veterans' affairs reporter Andrew McRae has been at a preview.
