Quake reinforcement quick fix in serious trouble

The Government's push to force a quick fix to dangerous building unreinforced masonry facades and parapets in the wake of the Kaikōura earthquakes is in serious trouble.

Half of Wellington's 100 building owners who have been given until March to fix their facades say rushing to fix the parapets separately makes no sense when they face strengthening their entire building - and could simply add to their costs.
