UK PM slams Russia over attempts to 'weaponise information'
The British Prime Minister has launched her strongest verbal attack on Russia, claiming that it intereferes in elections and plants fake news stories to sow discord. Speaking at the Lord Mayor's banquet, Theresa May said Russia was "threatening the international order on which we all depend". Her criticism comes amid mounting allegations that groups linked to Russia or the Kremlin have been meddling in elections and referendums, including Brexit, Catalonia's independence vote, and the 2016 US presidential election.
