Ardern, new govt tackles first international tests - analysis

Jacinda Ardern has followed through with her promise to push Australia over the plight of asylum seekers on Manus Island. While she has been denied a substantive meeting with her Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull on the issue she has helped maintain pressure on his Government with a three million dollar contribution to help alleviate the suffering of the Manus Island refugees. It's been a big week for the new Prime Minister and the new Foreign Minister Winston Peters attending both APEC and the East Asia Summit.
