'Butcher of Bosnia' Ratko Mladic jailed for genocide

From Morning Report, 6:35 am on 23 November 2017

The man known as the Butcher of Bosnia, Ratko Mladic, has been jailed for life for genocide and crimes against humanity. The trial at the Hague found the former Bosnian Serb commander "significantly contributed" to the genocide in Srebrenica in 1995, where more than 7,000 Bosniak men and boys were murdered - the worst atrocity in Europe since the Second World War. The 74-year-old is likely to die in prison, although he's already confirmed he will appeal the sentence.
