Teacher trainers using 'outdated methods' - ERO

From Morning Report, 7:46 am on 8 December 2017

The Education Review Office is calling for a review of teacher training saying some institutions are teaching outdated methods and many of their graduates are not well prepared to do their job. The office has found widespread concern among principals and early childhood centre managers about the selection and education of trainee teachers. It wants the Education Council to raise the standards that students must meet in order to graduate from initial teacher education and says it could also raise entry requirements. Chief review officer Nicolas Pole joins us to discuss the changes needed.
