West Auckland bus routes face uncertain future

The new competitive system for contracting out public transport services appears to have hit speed wobbles in Auckland, with one operator trying to relinquish recently won routes. Pavlovich Coachlines would not comment but RNZ understands from industry sources that two other operators have declined to take over the routes. First Union which represents drivers, is blaming the new Public Transport Operating Model, introduced in 2013 by the previous government. RNZ Auckland correspondent Todd Niall has been looking into this, and joins us to explain.
