Govt withholds Ohakea water contamination details

From Morning Report, 6:45 am on 15 December 2017

Government officials are refusing to provide details about the level of water contamination at sites where firefighting foam was used. It's been a week since it was revealed there was possible soil and water contamination at two Air Force bases. In June the Defence Force was told two toxic chemicals present at Ohakea were above acceptable guidelines. But it's refusing to say what the level was. American lawyer Robert Bilott has been involved in litigation against chemical giants Dupoint and 3M since 1998. He told RNZ reporter Kate Pereyra Garcia his legal team commissioned a study of 69,000 people over seven years.
