Republicans accused of effot to smear Trump-Russia investigator
Republicans in Washington DC are being accused of trying to discredit Trump-Russia investigator Robert Mueller by wrongly claiming his inquiry has inappropriate access to emails from the President's transition team. The complaint from the Trump for America group comes a day after a warning from a senior Democrat that top Republicans are manoeuvring to shut down the Trump-Russia inquiry. Last night it emerged that Mr Mueller's investigation has gained access to tens of thousands of emails sent and received by officials on Donald Trump's transition team.
