Foreign buyer ban may sting private house sellers

From Morning Report, 7:10 am on 26 January 2018

People who sell their homes privately could be fined thousands of dollars if they knowingly sell to an overseas buyer and try and cover it up. When the foreign buyer ban comes into effect, it will be illegal to sell a house to anyone who isn't a New Zealand citizen or resident. Any person pretending to be a New Zealander to buy a house will also face significant fines.
