The Green MP whose medicinal marijuana bill was heavily defeated at Parliament on Wednesday night says politicians have demonstrated how out of touch with the public they are. Chloe Swarbrick's bill was voted down 73 votes to 47. And the small handful of National MPs who had been given special dispensation by the party to cross the floor and support the bill, lost their nerve at the last minute and toed the party line.
