State care abuse survivors welcome inquiry

From Morning Report, 8:21 am on 2 February 2018

The Royal Commission of Inquiry into historical abuse in state care hopes to begin hearing submissions by the middle of the year. It will cover state run institutions like child welfare homes, borstals or psychiatric hospitals, and where the government contracted services out to other institutions. RNZ Maori correspondent Mihingarangi Forbes has been covering this story and has spoken to many survivors of abuse in state care.
