Historic anniversary for New Zealand test cricket

From Morning Report, 8:56 am on 15 February 2018

New Zealand cricket history was made 40 years ago today. In 1978 a three-test series began against England at Wellington's Basin Reserve. It was the 48th match between the nations, with New Zealand having lost 23 of them and drawn 24. New Zealand made 228 in their first innings but slumped to be all out 123 in their second, leaving England just 137 to win. Another loss seemed inevitable, but England capitulated all out for 64 with Sir Richard Hadlee taking six wickets.
