Hundreds of drivers lose licences after bribery scandal

From Morning Report, 7:37 am on 21 February 2018

Up to 350 drivers have had their licences cancelled or have been required to re-sit tests after an investigation into bribes being paid for licences. RNZ has been looking at the official papers about the drivers licence fraud, which includes details of public complaints. One includes an allegation that for between $500 and $600, the testing officer parked up for the duration of the test and then passed the driver. Another complaint alleges for $3000 drivers could buy a heavy vehicle licence. RNZ Auckland reporter Edward Gay has the documents and he explains the details.
