'I'd like to contribute to the country' - overseas worker

The construction industry is struggling to attract skilled workers, prompting a big overseas recruitment campaign. That need for workers - from labourers to highly skilled engineers - has been well documented as the booming sector struggles to meet demand. More than 13,000 people from overseas have registered their interest in filling the local skills gap and making the move here. Fifty of them were invited to Auckland to attend the Looksee recruitment session and spend a week looking for a foothold in New Zealand.
