March madness: Rail workers strike as uni semester starts

Auckland's annual 'March Madness' is about to kick off with the return of university students for the year's first semester. Last year, there were two million more trips on public transport in March than there were in February. This year, the madness is expected to be worse than ever, as it coincides with rail worker industrial action for the next three weeks - starting today, peak train services on the three main lines will run only every 20 minutes instead of every 10.
