NZ Book Awards 2018 shortlist announced

The diversity, depth and skill of New Zealand writers are being showcased in the annual New Zealand Book Awards. The shortlist has been made public this morning and features both established writers and emerging stars. Novels whose settings range from Spain to the Hutt Valley, including one that's been described as 'a lesbian Beavis and Butthead set in Paihia', are among the 16 titles. The awards will be anounced in May at the beginning of the Auckland Writers Festival. Nicola Legat is the chair of the New Zealand Book Awards Trust and joins us.
