Early childhood centres unsafe, not enough staff - teachers
Early childhood centres are failing to meet minimum staffing levels designed to keep children safe and they're getting away with it. Teachers have told RNZ News of repeated instances where the number of staff was below the required ratio. They say sometimes centres are deliberately cutting corners to save costs and most teachers won't blow the whistle for fear of losing their jobs. RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen filed this report.
