Chaos feared on Auckland roads as bus drivers strike

From Morning Report, 6:39 am on 18 April 2018

More than 150 Auckland bus services have been cancelled as bus drivers continue rolling strike action during the morning rush hour. Services running through New Lynn, Point Chevalier, Onehunga, St Lukes, Mount Roskill, Glen Innes, Remuera and Newmarket will be affected. First Union says the striking drivers, who are employed by NZ Bus, are pushing for fairer pay and work conditions. It is the second of eight days of planned industrial action, with drivers based at different depots around the city taking part each day. RNZ reporter Eva Corlett is at New Lynn bus depot and says it is very quiet there.
