Thousands of Aucklanders miss bowel cancer screening

The Health Ministry says it's fixed errors that deprived thousands of patients from screening for cancer. The Ministry revealed on Tuesday that up to 15,000 Waitematā residents aged 50 to 74 who were eligible for screening for bowel cancer were not invited to be screened between 2011 and last year. More than 30 of them have developed bowel cancer.
