Rescue helicopter cuts: Mayors take concerns to Health Minister

The Health Minister David Clark will today meet with mayors from Taupo, Rotorua and Ruapehu District to discuss their concerns about the possible withdrawal of rescue helicopter services from the region. In the proposed re-design of national air ambulance services, Taupo and Rotorua will no longer have rescue helicopter bases, meaning choppers will have to come from further afield to service areas like the Central Plateau and Tongariro National Park. RNZ reporter Sarah Robson spoke to the Taupo mayor, David Trewavas, about what he'll be telling the Health Minister.
