Green Party to stand in Northcote by-election

The Green Party has decided to stand a candidate in the upcoming Northcote by-election. That will be held in June and was triggered by the resignation of National's Jonathan Coleman, who won the seat with a 9,000 vote majority at last year's general election. The Green Party's candidate Rebekah Jaung gained just 2,400 of the votes in September. The party's co-leader Marama Davidson tells Susie Ferguson they will announce the candidate soon, but cannot say exactly when.
