'Not hard for companies to comply' with online GST - Nash

From Morning Report, 8:30 am on 2 May 2018

Revenue Minister Stuart Nash says he's confident the 'Amazon Tax' will not face compliance problems from overseas retailers. Tax specialist Mark Keating told Morning Report the government is indulging in 'industrial strength optimism' if it thinks retailers around the world will jump on board. This is of course in relation to the plan to collect the 15 percent GST on goods under $400 that New Zealanders purchase online. Stuart Nash says he's confident the large companies will comply, and he's relying on those major online retailers to register.
