Concerns as Māori voters move to general roll

From Morning Report, 7:36 am on 4 May 2018

Many Māori voters are turning their back on the Māori seats and deciding to vote in a general electorate in the next elections. The Māori Electoral Option, which gives Māori a choice of which roll to be on, is running until August. Early results show a shift from the Māori roll to the general and if that trend continues, it could lead to a reduction in the number of Māori seats in Parliament.
