Councils failing fire, quake safety checks
RNZ News has learned many councils are failing to carry out essential fire and earthquake safety checks of buildings. One example is the Porirua City Council which had until recently been checking just three buildings a year when it should have been checking one hundred and ten. RNZ reporter Phil Pennington talks to Susie Ferguson.
