Iwi join call to drop MPI from kauri dieback management

From Morning Report, 8:26 am on 10 May 2018

Three Auckland Iwi have joined conservation groups in demanding the Ministry for Primary Industries be removed from managing the kauri dieback programme. The groups including the Tree Council will give evidence to the Enviornment Select Committee on Thursday morning. They say the Ministry has failed badly over the past 10 years and they want urgent action, not more of the same. The call comes only two days before the Okura reserve north of Auckland is due to be closed because of kauri dieback.
