Gloriavale leader's death leaves community at crossroads

From Morning Report, 8:11 am on 16 May 2018

The Gloriavale Christian Community could be at a significant crossroad following the death of its founder and leader, Hopeful Christian. Neville Cooper, as he is otherwise known, was convicted and jailed in 1995 for sex offences, but former Gloriavale members say most of the people in the exclusive ranch still don't know the truth of what happened. One of Mr Cooper's sons, Phil Cooper, left the commune aged 27. He says he would love to go to his father's funeral but he wouldn't be welcome. To discuss what's next for Glorivale, Massey University Professor in History Peter Lineham talks to Guyon Espiner.
