Unpaid work: Early childhood teachers join calls for change

Early childhood teachers are joining the growing chorus of complaints about not being paid for work. Last week the Employment Court ordered Smiths City to back-pay staff six years' worth of lost wages for work they were not paid for. Since then complaints have been flowing in from businesses and public organisations across New Zealand. Early childhood teachers say they too are regularly required to work for free. Mrs Sandie Burn is chair of the NZEI's ECE national caucus. She talks to Susie Ferguson.
