Iwi interests, rights conflated by Crown - Charlie Tawhiao

The Treaty of Waitangi negotiations minister Andrew Little has extended the deadline for groups wanting to contest the Pare Hauraki's Treaty Settlement. On Tuesday a hikoi calling for the Crown to recognise tikanga in the Treaty Settlement process spilled over into threats of war on Parliament's forecourt as frustrations boiled over. Charlie Tawhiao is the chairman of Ngai Te Rangi, one of the Tauranga Moana iwi that objects to some provisions in the Pare Hauraki deal. He talks to Guyon Espiner.
