From Morning Report, 8:51 am on 21 May 2018

News the government won't be building a mega-prison is being met with cautious optimism by the criminal justice advocacy group JustSpeak. The previous government had planned to expand Waikeria prison to fit up to 3000 extra beds. The Corrections Association, which represents prison officers, believes the redevelopment must go ahead. We hear from its spokesperson Alan Whitley, and JustSpeak director Tania Sawicki Mead.
