White Ferns teen Amelia Kerr smashes cricket world record

From Morning Report, 8:37 am on 14 June 2018

White Ferns teenager Amelia Kerr has made history as she broke a 20-year-old record for the highest score in women's one day international cricket. Kerr posted 232 not out as New Zealand won the third and final one-dayer against Ireland in Dublin by 305 runs to claim a series sweep. The 17-year-old batted the entire innings, passing the previous highest score by Australian Belinda Clark, who made 229 not-out against Denmark in 1997. Kerr, who also took five wickets for just 17 runs in Ireland's innings, wasn't born when Clark set the previous mark and she concedes she hadn't even heard of the famous Australian. Kerr told RNZ's Joe Porter she was simply looking forward to having a bat.
