Hipkins responds to Brownlee's 'undemocratic' claims

Undemocratic, arrogant and an abuse of power. Just of few of the adjectives National is using to describe the government's move to push its Land Transport Regional Fuel Tax Amendment Bill through the house under Urgency and without debate. Yesterday Leader of the House Chris Hipkins put forward a motion that remaining questions on the Bill be put without further debate. Mr Hipkins tells Guyon Espiner " when we were in Opposition... we never thought to override rules of Parliament so debate could go on for ever".
