Water quality report criticised for lack of ambition
New recommendations from the Land and Water Forum mean some farmers might have to limit the number of stock on vulnerable land. The forum published a report yesterday aimed at better management of lakes and rivers and preventing any further degradation of water quality. Under the proposals, some farmers might have to pull land out of productive use, and be compensated for that. The report's been criticised by environmental groups as not going far enough.
