Law schools to decide on Russell McVeagh relationship

From Morning Report, 8:09 am on 6 July 2018

The deans of the country's law schools plan to meet Russell McVeagh staff next month to discuss the firm's response to the scathing external review of its culture. The review, led by Dame Margaret Bazley, found Russell McVeagh had a culture of excessive drinking when sexual misconduct allegations arose in 2015 and 2016. It said the incidents were managed poorly, with serious consequences for those people involved. All six of the country's university law schools temporarily cut ties with the firm following the revelations earlier this year. Victoria University Vice Chancellor Grant Guilford spoke to RNZ reporter Katie Scotcher and said he wasn't surprised by the review's findings.
