Google fined $4.3b by EU

Google has been hit with a landmark 4.34 BIllion euro fine by the European Union for what the EU describes as "serious illegal behaviour". Margrethe Vestager, the EU's competition commissioner, said Google has used its Android mobile phone operating system "to cement its dominance as a search engine". That prevented rivals from innovating and competing "and this is illegal under EU antitrust rules". Our correspondent in Brussels, Jack Parrock, says Google has been unfairly dominating the market.
