Nurses consider fifth pay offer from DHBs

From Morning Report, 7:20 am on 26 July 2018

It's not yet clear if nurses will agree to the latest pay deal their union has reached with District Health Boards. They have rejected two previous offers the Nurses Organisation recommended they accept and the new offer contains no extra government funding. However it proposes two key changes around monitoring of staffing, and a new salary step for senior nurses and midwives. After the offer was announced on Wednesday night, comments on Facebook showed many nurses are not happy with the latest deal. Nurses Organisation industrial services manager Glenda Alexander joins us with her reaction.
