The latest political poll in Australia has revealed plummeting support for Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, as supporters of Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton say he is leaning towards a challenge. The government's primary vote has dropped from 39 to 33 in just a month, according to the latest Fairfax/Ipsos poll published last night. Labor also opened up its advantage over the coalition, now leading 55 percent to 45 percent on a two-party preferred basis. Malcolm Turnbull's personal approval also took a battering, falling from 57 to 48 percent. RNZ journalist and presenter Alex Perrottet keeps his finger on the pulse of Australian politics.
