MPs' pay freeze: Seymour agrees with PM for first time

From Morning Report, 6:43 am on 21 August 2018

The Act Party leader, David Seymour, says for the first time ever he agrees with the Prime Minister after she moved to freeze MPs pay for a year. Jacinda Ardern announced last night MPs would not be getting a pay rise this year, and urgent legislation would be pushed through Parliament to make sure that happened. She has also asked for a change to the way MPs' pay rises are calculated in the future. David Seymour told our deputy political editor Chris Bramwell the current system of linking politicians' pay to the public sector is flawed.
