Specials dominate NZ grocery shoppers' baskets

New Zealand supermarket shoppers are among the world's keenest on a cheap deal, with $6 of every $10 spent on groceries spent on specials. That's well ahead of other countries, with people in Australia spending $4 out of every $10 on promotions, Britain three pounds and France just $1.80. But Consumer New Zealand wants supermarkets prices to be regularly monitored to ensure shoppers aren't being duped.
