More meetings about beleaguered Wellington bus service

From Morning Report, 8:23 am on 24 September 2018

Increased isolation of the elderly, mentally ill and disabled were just some of the key concerns raised by residents at a meeting in Wellington yesterday about the capital's plagued bus network. It's been 10 weeks since the system was overhauled with new routes, drivers, fares and timetables, and initially the regional council was confident things would be ironed out within the first few weeks. But, that didn't happen and bus users haven't kept quiet about it. Five community meetings have already been held and yesterday about a hundred residents from Wellington's southern suburbs gathered at the Mornington Golf Club to take their turn.
