Auckland America's Cup village given green light

From Morning Report, 6:10 am on 26 September 2018

Auckland mayor Phil Goff says court approval for plans to build the America's Cup village have futureproofed the city's ability to host world-class events. Yesterday the Environment Court granted resource consent for the team bases and infrastructure needed to host the 36th America's Cup in 2021. Mr Goff says the council has worked hard to ensure its building plans mitigate any environmental effects. And he told RNZ reporter Anneke Smith the America's Cup village is designed to limit encroachment on the harbour.
