National turmoil: Bridges, Ross - political analysis

The National Party political maelstrom will intensify today with rogue MP Jami-Lee Ross promising to take a recording to police that he says proves electoral fraud by leader Simon Bridges. Mr Ross alleges Mr Bridges asked him to split a large donation from a Chinese businessman into smaller parts so it was below the threshold where it would have to be made public. Mr Bridges denies any wrongdoing, but Mr Ross says he recorded a phone conversation with Mr Bridges about that $100,000 donation. Bryce Edwards is a political analyst from Victoria University.
