Govt needs to 'widen purse strings' for teachers - NZEI

Parents of primary school aged children will be hoping mediation will avert new strike action announced last night by teachers. Rolling strikes are set to begin in the week beginning the 12th of November. Teachers want smaller class sizes, more resources and an increase in salaries. But they've left the door open to settling their dispute. Susie Ferguson speaks to Lynda Stuart, president of teachers' union NZEI.
