The Minister of Education Chris Hipkins is urging the union representing primary school teachers, to rein in their members' expectations. A week of one-day rolling strikes began on Monday. Schools involved today are in the North Island, but not Wellington and Auckland. Mr Hipkins says the government will not add more money to its offer. On strike on Tuesday are Hamish Fenemor, the chair of the Waikato Principals Association, and Maryann Roberts, who chairs the Whanganui Principals Association. They talk to Philippa Tolley.
